OPEN GARDENS AT VALLEY K JULY 8 THROUGH AUGUST 2, 2008
TUESDAY TO SATURDAY 10 AM TO 5 PM
CLOSED SUNDAYS AND MONDAYS
What are OPEN GARDENS at Valley K? We invite you to stop in and take a self guided walk-about through our numerous gardens and lily beds, see the roses, perennials, water garden, turtles, the rabbit and who knows what else might be new for this year! No admission charged during regular business hours! Bring your camera but leave your pets at home please. There is a playground for young children as well as a picnic table for you to take a lunch break. Have a glance at our poster here.
Although we open July 8 the peak bloom period is weather dependent, (typically last week of July the most is in bloom at one time) so you might want to call us and find out just when the best time to visit may be. Calling after June 30 allows us to give an accurate time, but even one week of extreme heat the first week of July can change that time considerably!
Please note we are open to visitors at times NOT shown here by appointment only. That means you must call ahead and arrange the time and date if you want to come outside of our advertised business hours. We are NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON SUNDAYS under any circumstances, nor do we allow unannounced visits outside of regular business hours.Oh yes I have been known to be a tad grumpy when disturbed by lily seekers on a Sunday, but not nearly as grumpy as my dear sweet husband!
Food and lodging is available, just down the road from us at Rosebush Craft, Teahouse & Lodge, for those who might be interested. Tour and group visits are welcome here as well as there, we have ample parking for bus, car, truck and trailers. Please contact us to plan your visit if you are a group or want to come outside of regular hours. It is recommended that reservations be made in advance for groups larger than 6 people if you plan to stop at the Rosebush Teahouse for lunch or refreshments.
We are located approximately a half hour drive southeast
of Camrose Alberta, a quarter mile south of the scenic
Battle River, hence the "Valley" in our name.
From the City of Camrose you would head east on highway
13, to the turn of Highway 56 south. From
here, you travel south through the Battle River valley,
up over the hill to the second crossroads, where we
have a "Valley K Greenhouses" sign
located on the west side of the highway. Turn
east at this sign, traveling for 4.5 miles to our location. You will go through a small coulee with a curve in it
a half mile before you reach us, just follow the curve
up and around the hill, where the road will straighten
out once again, and our driveway sign will lead you
into the yard. Print
the larger map to ensure you don't get lost. We
look forward to greeting you!
Wondering
how long it might take to get here? These are approximate,
