The following lilies were chosen from a mixed bunch of leftovers from our popular Fellner Mix sold in the Fall catalogs. They were planted out way back in 2000 and my intention was to dig them out once large enough for a future Fellner Mixed lot. During the following 2-3 years we experienced heavy drought and high heat for extended periods and these lilies really shone during that time. Following the drought years, we've had 3 years of steady rains in which botrytis has been a major issue and these STILL stood out as excellent garden specimens. To view them in person you'll need to come visit
us during our annual Open Gardens in July &
August. Please note that none of these selections
are available for sale yet, but if they prove
worthy, they will be registered and released in
future.
The red lily pictured below was in fact chosen to be registered, and is the same lily as pictured above in the box to the left of the title. I dug them out to seperate and replant them in Fall 2005 and was unable to find them in my many beds of lilies the following summer. I fear I rogued them by mistake and threw them into a mix and shipped them to some lucky customers! So, if you happen to be one of those lucky customers and find a lily very similar to this growing from a mix of bulbs you purchased from us in Fall 2005 or Spring 2006, PLEASE contact me!
